Batik Air Indonesia granted approval to start flights in Pakistan
The Federal Cabinet has given the green light for Indonesian
Batik Air Service to kick off flights from Pakistan, aiming to bolster air connectivity between the two countries. Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority
(PCAA) has confirmed the intentions of Batak Air Indonesia, a subsidiary of
Indonesia's Lion Air Group, to operate flights to and from Pakistan.
Aviation Ministry apprised the federal cabinet of a request from the Indonesian Directorate General of Civil Aviation to designate Batik Air Indonesia as an Indonesian airline for operations to Pakistan.

PCAA has verified that Batik Air Indonesia plans to use Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft for its Pakistan routes.
Moreover, PCAA clarified that Batik Air Indonesia is a venture separate from Batik Air Malaysia, despite both being under the Lion Air Group. Batik Air Indonesia's ownership and management are Indonesian, and its operations complement Lion Air's low-cost carrier services.

The Air Service Agreement (ASA) between Pakistan and Indonesia, signed in 1996, allows for multiple airline designations, subject to approval by the federal cabinet.
Sources indicate that Batik Air will initiate seven weekly flights to Karachi and Lahore initially, offering travelers increased options and convenience.
The introduction of Batik Air's services is expected to stimulate tourism, trade, and people-to-people exchanges between Pakistan and Indonesia.
