Indonesian aircraft grounded
at Karachi Airport for weeks
An Indonesian aviation
company's aircraft has been immobilized at Karachi Airport for the past three
weeks due to an unforeseen technical issue.
The ATR aircraft was en route
from Indonesia to the United Arab Emirates when it encountered unexpected
technical difficulties, necessitating an unscheduled stopover at Karachi's
Jinnah International Airport in Pakistan.
Initial reports suggest that
the Indonesian private aircraft initially landed at Karachi Airport for
refueling. However, during this stopover, unanticipated technical problems
emerged, preventing the aircraft from continuing its journey to the UAE.
Two
PIA aircraft stranded in Jakarta for two years
In response to the
situation, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) promptly deployed its
engineering team to assess and rectify the aircraft's technical issues.
Sources with knowledge of
the matter have indicated that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is closely
overseeing the inspection and repair process to ensure compliance with safety
protocols and aviation standards.
Notably, the flight crew,
who were aboard the aircraft during this ordeal, departed for Jakarta,
Indonesia, using another aircraft provided by the Indonesian aviation company.
According to sources, the
Indonesian aviation company sought PIA's assistance in resolving the technical
challenges affecting their aircraft.
Following the completion of
the required inspections by PIA's engineering team, it is expected that the Indonesian
private aircraft will be deemed airworthy and prepared to resume its originally
planned journey.
