Transport Canada reschedules visit to audit airports of Pakistan
Transport Canada, the Canadian agency responsible for
transportation oversight, has decided to cancel its planned visit to Pakistan
for an audit of airports and flight security, as reported by ARY News on
Sunday.
Originally, a two-member delegation from Transport Canada was
scheduled to arrive in Karachi today to commence the audit of Pakistani
airports and flight operations to Canada. The audit, which was set to begin on
December 4 at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport, has now been postponed,
with the Canadian delegation rescheduling their visit to 2024.

to conduct security audit of Pakistani airports
In a related development, the European Union Aviation Safety
Agency (EASA) recently concluded its safety audit of various Pakistani
airlines, including the national flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines
(PIA), Vision Air International charter cargo service, and the private airline
Airblue during its November visit to Pakistan. Sources from ARY News suggest
that Pakistani national and private airlines are expected to receive approval
to resume flight operations in the United Kingdom (UK) and other European
states following the EASA's safety audit clearance.
The EASA ban had previously led to significant financial losses
for the national carrier, with approximately Rs170 billion in losses incurred
since the imposition of restrictions on the airlines.
