'Second Line' border control office inaugurated at Islamabad International Airport
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), in collaboration
with the European Union (EU) and the International Centre for Migration Policy
Development (ICMPD), has unveiled a 'second line' border control office at
Islamabad International Airport.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the FIA Academy in
Islamabad, with the Director General (DG) of FIA, Mohsin Hassan Butt, presiding
over the event.

Airport implements facial recognition system for enhanced security
This state-of-the-art facility, established with the support
of the European Union and ICMPD, is equipped with advanced forensic and IT
tools designed to identify irregular migration, smuggling, and human
trafficking cases at the airport.
The upgraded infrastructure will enable the FIA to access
real-time information from international databases, aiding in the detection of
the latest trends in document forgeries.

The establishment of this new office represents a broader
initiative to modernize Pakistan's border management systems, with plans to
extend similar facilities to other airports across the country in 2024.
