Pakistan: Workers to stage airport protests in multiple cities on September 4

Unionized workers of the Civil Aviation Authority have called for day-long protests outside civilian airports across Pakistan on September 4.

The demonstrators are protesting against the proposed privatization of certain airport operations and alleged mismanagement by the current director-general.

Similar rallies in the past have seen significant participation, particularly at Islamabad International Airport (ISB), Karachi's Jinnah International Airport (KHI), and Lahore's Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE). While flight disruptions are highly unlikely, the protests may lead to localized road traffic disruptions and airport screening delays.

Authorities are likely to monitor any demonstrations closely and may take action to disperse overly disruptive crowds.
