Pakistan Finance Minister chairs meeting on restructuring of Pakistan International Airlines 

Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister and the Chairman of the Department for Aviation Reforms led a high-level meeting in Islamabad to discuss the restructuring of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

The meeting aimed to address the challenges faced by the national carrier and devise a comprehensive plan to revamp its ope
rations.

The participants held deliberations at length on the current state of PIA, including its financial performance, operational efficiency, and customer service.

The Chairman emphasized the need for a holistic approach to restructure PIA, highlighting the importance of improving its financial stability, enhancing service quality, and ensuring compliance with international aviation standards. He stressed the significance of a well-defined roadmap and strategic measures to transform PIA into a competitive and customer-centric airline.

Discussions also revolved around human resource management, fleet renewal, and route optimization. Participants of the meeting explored ways to streamline PIA's workforce, attract skilled professionals, and develop a performance-driven culture within the organization. The importance of fleet modernization and optimizing flight routes to maximize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness was also emphasized.

Furthermore, the meeting focused on enhancing safety protocols and regulatory compliance within PIA.  

The restructuring efforts discussed during the meeting align with the government's vision to transform PIA into a profitable and reputable airline. The Chairman reiterated the government's commitment to supporting PIA's revitalization, emphasizing that the restructuring process would be carried out transparently and in line with best practices.
