Representatives of South Air and Ethiopian Airlines discuss potential cooperation
Pakistan-based airline South Air is exploring potential strategic
cooperation with Ethiopian
Airlines following a high-level delegation’s visit to the Ethiopian
aviation headquarters in Addis Ababa.
The South Air delegation, comprising Air Vice
Marshal (Retd.) Ijaz Malik and Muhammad Fahad Naeem, held discussions with Retta
Melaku, Group Chief Operating Officer of Ethiopian Airlines, on a range of
potential areas of collaboration.
According to South Air, the talks focused on
opportunities for interline connectivity, air cargo operations, operational
cooperation and future aviation partnerships between the two airlines.
As part of the visit, the South Air delegation
also met with the President of Ethiopian Aviation University, where an
agreement was signed for the training and professional development of South Air
personnel, including pilots, technicians, engineers and cabin crew.

South Air said the agreement represents an
important step toward enhancing its operational capabilities and developing
professional expertise within its workforce.
The airline added that the engagements could
lay the foundation for a long-term aviation relationship with Ethiopian
Airlines, Africa’s largest airline group, while opening opportunities for
broader cooperation in passenger connectivity, cargo and aviation training.
The
developments mark South Air’s efforts to strengthen its operational capabilities
and pursue international partnerships as it expands its presence in the
aviation sector.
