Serene Air plans flight resumption with new aircraft fleet

Serene Air said it had already sourced aircraft for its planned return to the skies

Serene Air rejects reports regarding shutting down of its operations

Serene Air has rejected reports circulating on social media that the private Pakistani airline is shutting down, saying it is actively preparing to resume flight operations with a new type of aircraft.

In an official statement, the airline said reports claiming it had closed or planned a permanent cessation of operations were “factually incorrect” and without basis.

Serene Air said it had already sourced aircraft for its planned return to the skies, while necessary preparations for their induction into the fleet were under way. The airline did not disclose the type or number of aircraft being acquired.

The development comes as the airline undertakes a broader cost-cutting and restructuring programme aimed at improving operational efficiency and strengthening its financial position.

As part of the restructuring, Serene Air said it was identifying end-of-life assets and surplus facilities that were no longer required. Such assets are being salvaged or disposed of where appropriate to reduce costs and optimise available resources.

The airline also said it was considering an additional investment, which, if secured, would strengthen its financial position and help facilitate the settlement of outstanding liabilities.

Serene Air urged passengers and the public not to rely on unverified reports circulating on social media, warning that inaccurate information could create unnecessary confusion among customers and other stakeholders.

The airline said it would provide updates on its operations through its official communication channels and reserved the right to take action against the dissemination of information it considers false, misleading or defamatory.

The statement comes amid heightened speculation over the airline’s operational status, with Serene Air seeking to reassure the travelling public that its current restructuring is aimed at preparing the carrier for a return to service rather than shutting down permanently.
