PIA's delegation and Boeing officials hold discussions for purchase of aircraft

International Airlines (PIA) has taken a significant step towards acquiring
16 new Boeing aircraft following progress in discussions held at the U.S.
aircraft manufacturer's headquarters in Washington.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Boeing Global President Brendan Nelson on
Thursday to discuss the proposed purchase and the airline's fleet modernisation
plans. A delegation representing PIA's new management also participated in the
meeting.
According to officials, both sides reviewed aircraft
options best suited to the national carrier's operational requirements and
explored commercial arrangements aimed at securing the most favourable terms
for the acquisition.

The two parties agreed to continue working towards
finalising the agreement at the earliest opportunity.
During the meeting, Naqvi thanked Nelson for Boeing's
commitment to supporting the procurement process and appreciated the company's
longstanding contribution to the global aerospace industry.
The planned acquisition is expected to play a central role in PIA's fleet
renewal programme, strengthening the airline's operational capacity, enhancing
route expansion prospects and improving passenger services as it pursues
long-term growth and competitiveness.
