Chairperson Menzies Aviation discusses aviation cooperation with Finance Minister at Davos 

UK-based Menzies Aviation is exploring a significant expansion of its operations in Pakistan. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Menzies Chairperson Hassan El Houry at the World Economic Forum in Davos to discuss opportunities for enhancing airport services, operational efficiency, and investment in line with Pakistan’s privatisation agenda.

Aurangzeb briefed El Houry on plans to privatise Pakistan International Airlines and outsource operations at Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore airports, highlighting the country’s improving economy and business-friendly environment. Menzies identified Sialkot as a strategic hub for aviation and logistics.

Both parties emphasized improving airport service quality and passenger experience, with Menzies, which operates at over 350 airports across 60 countries, expressing strong interest in deepening its presence in Pakistan. The discussions concluded on a positive note, reinforcing prospects for long-term partnership and economic collaboration.

In separate meetings, Aurangzeb also engaged with Asian Development Bank President Masato Kanda to review reforms and private sector initiatives. Kanda lauded Pakistan’s progress, reaffirmed ADB support, and highlighted collaboration in energy and sustainable growth projects.
