Bangladesh's Biman Airlines to start direct Dhaka–Karachi flights
Pakistan’s aviation authorities have
granted permission to Bangladesh’s national carrier, Biman Airlines, to commence
direct flights between Dhaka and Karachi.
According to a report published on
Friday, the approval has been issued on a trial basis and will remain valid
until March 30. Civil Aviation Authority
(CAA) sources said that flight schedules and operational details are expected
to be finalised by next week. The airline will operate in accordance with
Pakistan Civil Aviation regulations.

Discussions on resuming direct air connectivity between Pakistan and Bangladesh have been ongoing since last year, following an improvement in bilateral relations after the ouster of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid in August 2024 amid a civil uprising.
Earlier this week, Bangladesh’s
Ambassador to Pakistan, M.D. Hussain Khan, confirmed that both countries were
close to signing a formal agreement to allow direct flights. He noted that the
move would help strengthen trade, business links, cultural exchanges, and
people-to-people contacts between the two nations.
