UK-based Norse Atlantic to start direct flights between UK and Islamabad

UK-based Norse Atlantic Airways has received approval from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to begin direct flight operations to Pakistan.

In the initial phase, the airline is expected to operate services from London to Islamabad, with plans to later expand direct flights from Manchester and Birmingham.

CAA Director General Asif said the entry of Norse Atlantic would “foster healthy competition, leading to improved service standards and more balanced airfares.”

British Airways currently operates flights to Pakistan, making Norse Atlantic the second UK carrier to offer direct services. CAA officials noted that the new operations are likely to enhance competition in the aviation sector.

Separately, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced on December 30 that it will resume direct flights to London after a six-year hiatus. The national carrier will operate four weekly services from Islamabad starting March 29.

PIA is also operating three weekly flights to Manchester, a route that was reinstated on October 25 after a five-year suspension. The service initially resumed with two weekly flights before being increased to three.
