Key objectives include improving combat preparedness, exchanging expertise in operational planning and execution, and standardising concepts of joint military operations. The drills are designed to replicate current and emerging threats, with a strong focus on operating within a complex and advanced electronic warfare environment.
The exercise is being hosted at the Air Warfare
Centre (AWC), a leading military training and evaluation facility located at
King Abdulaziz Air Base in Dhahran. Inaugurated in April 2019 by Crown Prince
Mohammed bin Salman, the AWC is the first facility of its kind in the Gulf
region and is modelled on the US Air Force’s Nellis Air Base.
The
centre serves as a hub for advanced air combat training and functions as the
headquarters for air combat operations at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)
level.
