The extension of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Chief comes during a critical period of regional security

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a two-year extension for Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu, allowing him to continue as Chief of Air Staff beyond his current five-year term, which concludes in March 2026.

The extension ensures continuity in Pakistan Air Force (PAF) leadership during a critical period of regional security and modernization initiatives, reflecting the government’s confidence in Sidhu’s guidance.

Air Chief Marshal Sidhu joined the PAF in 1986 as a fighter pilot and has since held key operational and command roles, including leading a fighter squadron, operational airbases, and regional commands. He has also served in senior staff positions such as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff, Director General of Projects, and Deputy Chief of Air Staff for Air Defence and Administration.
