Bahrain awards prestigious medal to Pakistan Air Chief
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber
Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), was conferred with the
prestigious Bahrain Medal – First Class by His Royal Highness Prince
Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, on behalf
of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The award ceremony took place at
Sakhir Air Base, Bahrain, in recognition of the Air Chief’s remarkable
contributions to enhancing military cooperation and defence collaboration
between Pakistan and Bahrain. The event was attended by senior civil and
military leaders from Bahrain.

Contribution
During the ceremony, His Royal Highness extended his appreciation to Air Chief
Marshal Sidhu for Pakistan Air Force’s participation in the Bahrain
International Airshow, featuring JF-17 Block-III fighter jets along with air
and ground crew. The Air Chief expressed gratitude for the honour and
reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering military ties with Bahrain.

Engagements on the Sidelines of the
Airshow
On the sidelines of the airshow, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu held a meeting with
Lieutenant General Derek France, Commander of the Ninth Air Force (US Air
Forces Central Command — AFCENT). Discussions focused on strengthening
bilateral cooperation, with the Air Chief emphasizing the importance of joint
training, mutual exercises, and expanded military collaboration. Lieutenant
General France commended Pakistan's efforts in promoting regional peace and
security.
In another high-level meeting, the
Air Chief met with Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa,
Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force, further reinforcing the
strategic partnership between the two nations.
