New four-year program to start in 2026
The University of Karachi has announced the launch of a
four-year bachelor’s degree in Aviation Technology and Management, set to
commence in the 2026 academic year. Offered under the Institute of Space
Science and Technology, the program marks a significant advancement in aviation
education within Pakistan.
The university’s Academic Council, chaired by Vice-Chancellor
Prof. Dr. Khalid Iraqi, will finalize the admission framework for the new
program. According to officials, the Admissions Committee plans to expedite the
application timeline this year, with intermediate results expected to be
released earlier and admissions likely opening by late September.

Aviation Training School in Pakistan set to commence operations
Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal, Chairman of the Institute of Space Science,
noted that the program had received Academic Council approval in the previous
year, but formal enrollment was delayed due to pending administrative
procedures.
Admissions will be equally divided between morning and
evening shifts, and candidates will be selected based on their entrance test
performance. The program is open to students with a pre-engineering background.
Dr. Iqbal also outlined the course structure, emphasizing
its interdisciplinary approach. The curriculum combines core aerospace and
aviation engineering subjects with management and leadership training, aiming
to produce graduates equipped with both technical skills and strategic acumen
to meet the evolving needs of the global aviation industry.
