Pakistan Post honors SUPARCO by issuing three commemorative stamps
To mark SUPARCO Day, Pakistan Post has
released a special set of three commemorative postage stamps
celebrating the country’s recent breakthroughs in space technology.
The stamps highlight the landmark achievements
of iCube-Qamar,
PAKSAT-MM1,
and EO-1
— missions that signal a new chapter in Pakistan’s national space programme.
Celebrating national space achievements
- iCube-Qamar, launched on May 3, 2024, aboard China’s Chang’e-6 lunar mission, was Pakistan’s first cube satellite to reach lunar orbit. The mission successfully demonstrated Pakistan’s capabilities in lunar space operations, capturing stunning images of both the moon and the sun.
- PAKSAT-MM1, launched on May 30, 2024, is a geostationary communication satellite designed to enhance Pakistan’s broadcasting, telecommunications, and internet infrastructure. The satellite plays a vital role in supporting national socio-economic development and digital connectivity.
- EO-1, launched on January 17, 2025, is Pakistan’s first indigenously developed electro-optical Earth observation satellite. It provides high-resolution imagery for sectors such as agriculture, urban planning, environmental monitoring, and disaster management.
