Authorities have yet to confirm the cause of the crash, with an inquiry expected to determine the technical or operational factors involved.
The Mirage 5 ROSE III — part of
PAF’s Retrofit of Strike Element (ROSE) programme — features upgraded avionics
and extended strike capabilities. Despite being based on an older French
platform, the modernised fleet continues to play a critical role in the Air
Force’s strike and reconnaissance operations.
