Fly Jinnah sued for Rs12 million
over denial of preferential meal
A Lahore-based passenger has filed a
Rs12 million lawsuit against Fly Jinnah, accusing the airline of negligence and
mistreatment after it allegedly failed to provide a vegetarian meal despite his
medical condition.
Waqas Anjum, who traveled on a Fly
Jinnah flight from Karachi to Lahore, submitted a complaint to the consumer
court, claiming the airline ignored his repeated requests for a vegetarian
option. Anjum stated that his dietary restriction was due to a medical
condition that requires him to avoid meat.
“I explained my medical condition
and asked for a non-meat meal, but they refused to make any accommodations,”
Anjum told reporters.

In a more serious allegation, he
claimed that airline staff physically assaulted him at the airport when he
protested their refusal, leading to both mental and physical distress.
The consumer court has accepted the
case and set a hearing date for May 27.
The incident raises questions about
dietary inclusivity and customer service standards in Pakistan’s growing
aviation sector. As airlines expand operations, there is increasing scrutiny on
their ability to accommodate diverse passenger needs, especially those rooted
in health or religion.
