Pakistan marks 6th anniversary of Operation Swift Retort
The sixth anniversary of Operation Swift Retort
was observed on Thursday, honoring the valiant Armed Forces of Pakistan for
their resilience and determination in responding to India's attempted
misadventure.
On February 27, 2019, the Pakistan Air Force
(PAF) successfully thwarted a border violation by shooting down two Indian
fighter jets. During the operation, Indian pilot Abhinandan was also captured.
In commemoration of the anniversary, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a song titled ‘Dushmana Sun,’ marking six years since Operation Swift Retort. The song reflects the commitment and pledge of the nation’s brave sons to defend Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to
the courage, professionalism, and spirit of sacrifice displayed by Pakistan’s
Armed Forces. In his message on the occasion, the prime minister emphasized
that six years ago, the Pakistan Air Force sent a clear message to the enemy
that Pakistan is fully capable of protecting its borders.
He lauded the armed forces' response to
India’s aggression, asserting that their actions proved the readiness and
resolve of Pakistan’s soldiers to defend the nation’s security. The prime
minister also highlighted the great sacrifices made by Pakistan’s Armed Forces
in securing the country, which will never be forgotten by the nation.
Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that while Pakistan has always strived for regional peace, whenever the country’s national security and stability were threatened, the entire nation stood united, like an unbreakable wall.

Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to protecting its sovereignty and territorial
integrity.
