PIA to hire contingent staff to meet employee shortfall
In response to a significant number of engineers and technicians resigning
from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the airline’s administration has
decided to fill the vacant roles on a daily wage basis.
Recently, approximately 110 engineers and technicians left PIA, triggered by
the government’s ongoing efforts to privatize the airline.

Sources familiar with the matter stated that PIA’s Engineering Department
has begun conducting interviews for new engineers and technicians to be hired
on a contractual basis. However, a decision regarding the appointment of
aircraft engineers has not yet been made. The last recruitment of aircraft
engineers took place in 2016.
