PIA employees receive 25% raise in salaries

The Privatization Commission
announced the raise on Thursday, highlighting the government’s intent to support
PIA staff amidst Pakistan’s rising inflation. The pay hike is seen as a

In a related development, PIA CEO
Khurram Mushtaq revealed plans to expand the airline’s fleet by adding eight
new aircraft next year. The announcement was made during a National Assembly
Standing Committee on Aviation meeting, chaired by MNA Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmed
Khan Babar at Islamabad International Airport.
The new additions will include wide-body
Boeing 777 planes, intended for long-haul routes. This move is expected to
enhance PIA’s operational capabilities and service quality for its passengers.
