Multan-bound PIA flight misses disaster at Dubai Airport

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) narrowly avoided a serious incident at Dubai International Airport when an engine malfunction and complete tire blowout occurred during an aborted takeoff.

The Airbus A320, carrying 172 passengers on its way from Dubai to Multan, triggered an engine failure warning while accelerating down the runway.

A PIA spokesperson reported that the captain promptly engaged the emergency braking system, bringing the aircraft to a safe stop. However, the abrupt deceleration caused all tires to burst. Fortunately, all passengers were safely evacuated and taken to the airport lounge.

To address the technical issues, PIA has dispatched an engineering team from Karachi to Dubai. The airline has committed to conducting a thorough investigation to ensure passenger safety.

In a related incident, another PIA flight from Muscat to Peshawar was diverted to Karachi due to a detected hydraulic failure.
