committed to further advancing Pakistan's space program
SPARC-GB is part of SUPARCO’s
ongoing efforts to leverage space technology for environmental monitoring
across Pakistan, with a focus on addressing the specific challenges faced by
the Gilgit-Baltistan region. The area's geography makes it particularly
vulnerable to climate change and natural hazards, necessitating innovative
research and solutions to better understand and mitigate these risks.
The center will serve as a hub for
research in key areas such as glacier monitoring, climate change mitigation,
and disaster management. It will support advanced studies on glacier dynamics,
natural hazards, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable resource
management.
