Pakistan to investigate complaints against CAA officials
The Aviation Ministry has decided to investigate allegations of corruption involving officials within the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The decision follows numerous complaints of misconduct and corruption within the CAA. The probe will specifically examine issues related to direct recruitments in the Flight Standards and SQMS departments, where there have been reports of merit-based criteria being ignored during the hiring process.
Sources also revealed that the recruitment of Aero-Medical Directors, Additional Directors, and various Assistant Directors, along with staff-level positions, did not adhere to merit-based standards. Complaints about these recruitment practices were lodged with the Aviation Ministry's HR department.

In response to these allegations, senior officials from the Aviation Ministry have pledged to conduct a comprehensive and transparent investigation. The ministry has committed to addressing complaints related to corruption in both recruitments and various projects.
Previously, CAA employees had demanded a salary increase due to changes in the tax slab outlined in the Budget 2024-25. The CAA Joint Employees’ Union submitted a letter to the Director of Human Resources requesting salary adjustments in line with the new tax regulations. They also raised concerns about the non-payment of Eid bonuses and the lack of salary adjustments according to the updated tax slab.
