Pakistan secures fourth spot in
Dubai passenger traffic
Pakistan has secured the fourth
position in passenger traffic at Dubai International Airport (DXB), with 2.3
million travelers arriving in the first half of 2024.
Dubai International Airport
experienced a record-breaking 44.9 million passengers in the first six months
of the year, marking an 8% increase compared to the same period last year,
according to a statement from the airport operator on Wednesday.
The airport welcomed 9.31 million
international visitors during this period, underscoring its growing status as a
global hub for talent, business, and investment.

These statistics, released by
Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, align with Dubai's economic growth,
which saw its GDP reach AED 115 billion in Q1 2024, a 3.2% increase from the
previous year.
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai
Airports, expressed a positive outlook for the remainder of the year,
projecting a record-breaking 91.8 million annual passengers for 2024.
In the first half of 2024, India was
the leading destination country from DXB, with 6.1 million passengers. China
also saw a significant increase, with over 1 million passengers, reflecting an
80% year-on-year growth and a 90% recovery compared to 2019 levels.

Following India, the top destination
countries included Saudi Arabia with 3.7 million guests, the United Kingdom
with 2.9 million, and Pakistan with 2.3 million. Other notable markets were the
United States with 1.7 million passengers, Russia with 1.3 million, and Germany
with 1.3 million.
London was the most popular city
destination, attracting 1.8 million guests, followed by Riyadh with 1.6 million
and Mumbai with 1.2 million.
DXB is connected to 269 destinations
in 106 countries, serviced by 101 international airlines, reinforcing Dubai’s
position as a premier global business and logistics hub.
