Pakistan Air Force’s Mueed Baloch wins gold in World Cadet Games
Pakistan's Abdul Mueed Baloch, a sprinter from the Pakistan Air Force, has
claimed a gold medal in the 400-meter race at the ongoing 4th International
Military Sports Council (CISM) World Cadet Games in Venezuela.
The games, which began on August 17 at the Fuerte Tiuna military base in
Caracas, saw Baloch emerge victorious in the men’s 400 meters, finishing the
race in just 48.20 seconds. As he stood on the podium, Baloch proudly raised
the national flag and celebrated his victory with traditional dance moves.

Baloch had previously set a national record in the 400 meters with a time of
46.73 seconds.
The CISM World Cadet Games, first held in 2010, are a significant event
within the military sports framework, bringing together young athletes from
around the world. Baloch, who originally pursued football, made his debut on
the track in 2015 at the National Coaching Centre, clocking 12.50 seconds in
his first 100m sprint at the Aman Tech competition in February that year.
