New Visa Policy to boost tourism and trade: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif announced on Sunday that the government has introduced significant visa reforms aimed at facilitating foreign investors, the business community, and tourists.

He emphasized that these reforms would enhance tourism, attract foreign investment, and stimulate trade activities in the country.

In a statement, the Prime Minister described the initiative as a major positive development. The government has approved visa-free entry for businessmen from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which is expected to increase investment and business opportunities from these nations.

Additionally, businessmen, investors, and tourists from 126 countries will be issued visas within 24 hours through an online system. Traders and tourists from these countries will also be exempt from visa fees.

The new visa policy aims to make Pakistan an attractive destination for foreign businesspeople and tourists. Special arrangements have been made for Sikh pilgrims with passports from third countries to obtain visas on arrival.

Electronic gates will be installed at Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad airports to facilitate travelers. A dashboard will be established at the Ministry of Interior to monitor the implementation of the new visa regime, including visa-free entry, business visas, and tourist visas on arrival.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the efforts of the Ministry of Interior, relevant ministries, and institutions in implementing the new visa regime.
