Pakistani travelers often flock to
Sri Lanka for its stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and
budget-friendly options. Now, this travel route is set to become even more
accessible with the introduction of direct flights.
AirSial, a private low-cost airline,
will soon begin operating direct flights between Islamabad and Colombo,
according to Sri Lankan High Commissioner Admiral (Retired) Ravindra
Chandrasiri Wijegunaratne. This development follows the recent approval of
these flight routes by the Pakistani Cabinet.
Currently, Sri Lankan Airlines

Next Monday, Pakistan and Sri Lanka
will resume bilateral consultations after a two-year pause. The discussions
will cover various topics, including trade, investment, tourism, culture, and
sports.
The two nations maintain a strong
trade relationship, supported by the Pakistan-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement
(PSFTA). This agreement reduces tariffs and enhances market access,
facilitating trade between the two countries. Pakistan exports textiles,
pharmaceuticals, and chemicals to Sri Lanka, while Sri Lanka exports tea,
rubber, and machinery to Pakistan.
