A two-member team from Transport Canada, responsible for developing
regulations and policies for transportation in Canada, is set to arrive in
Pakistan on July 15 to inspect aviation security.
The Directorate of Aviation Security of the Pakistan Civil Aviation
Authority (PCAA) will host the Transport Canada team. During their visit, the
Canadian inspectors will review aviation security protocols, documentation,
airport arrangements, and catering services, along with an inspection of cargo
complexes at Islamabad and Allama Iqbal airports.

The primary focus will be to ensure that Pakistan's aviation security
systems comply with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards
and meet Canadian requirements. The team will also evaluate Pakistan
International Airlines (PIA) operations, given that PIA runs direct flights to
Canada.
The PCAA, along with other stakeholders, will brief the visiting team on the
measures implemented to ensure passenger and flight safety. Preparation for
this assessment has involved coordination with airport management, the Airport
Security Force, PIA, cargo operators, and catering companies, all operating
under the PCAA's security framework.

This inspection will be the fifth international assessment of Pakistan's
aviation security system. The PCAA has successfully passed all previous
inspections, the latest conducted by the UAE-GCAA at Islamabad and Karachi
airports.
