ICAO team assesses safety measures of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority
A team from the International Civil
Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has completed a seven-day visit to assess the
safety measures implemented by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).
The scheduled ICAO Coordinated
Validation Mission (ICVM) took place from June 5 to 12.
During their visit, the ICAO team
conducted an extensive validation of the corrective actions taken by the PCAA.
They inspected the engineering and flight safety departments of Pakistan
International Airlines and evaluated the implementation of ICAO’s
safety-related standards, aircraft airworthiness, and operational and engineering
capabilities.

A PCAA spokesman stated that the
team arrived in Karachi as scheduled to conduct a thorough validation of the
corrective actions implemented since the last ICAO audit in December 2021. The
ICAO team was accompanied by Aviation Division Secretary and PCAA Director
General (DG) Saif Anjum, and Deputy DG Nadir Shafi Dar throughout their visit.
The visit concluded with a closing
meeting on June 12, attended by the PCAA DG, deputy DG, and directors.
