Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs lauded Saudi Arabia's utilization of cutting-edge technology to enhance the pilgrimage experience for Muslims. This commendation follows Saudi Arabia's announcement of plans to test "flying taxis and drones" during the upcoming Hajj season.

Saleh Al-Jasser, the Saudi Minister for Transport and Logistics, recently highlighted the fierce competition among transportation companies in the kingdom to offer optimal travel options to the public. He previously mentioned the testing of flying taxis and drones during Hajj to ensure pilgrims' maximum comfort.

Reports suggest that Saudi Airlines is also contemplating operating flying taxis to transport Hajj pilgrims from Jeddah airport to their accommodations in Makkah.

Muhammad Umar, the spokesperson for Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs, expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia's commitment to modernizing the pilgrimage experience through innovative technology, emphasizing their dedication to pilgrims' comfort and convenience.

Drawing on his extensive involvement in Pakistan's Hajj operations since 2009, Umar cited Saudi authorities' introduction of various mobile applications to assist pilgrims, underscoring the government's steadfast efforts in facilitating the sacred journey for millions.

Umar further noted significant advancements in crowd management and the provision of enhanced facilities by Saudi authorities over the years.

Hajj, one of Islam's five pillars, mandates every financially and physically capable adult Muslim to undertake the pilgrimage to the holy sites in Makkah at least once in their lifetime.

According to Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs, this year's Hajj quota for Pakistan stands at 179,210 pilgrims. Of these, 63,805 pilgrims will perform the pilgrimage under the government scheme, while the remainder will be accommodated by private tour operators.
