Outsourcing of Islamabad Airport to be ready by mid-May: Minister
Federal Aviation Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has disclosed plans for the outsourcing of Islamabad International Airport, slated to be ready for the transition by mid-May.
Through a social media statement, Minister Asif confirmed the
imminent outsourcing of Islamabad International Airport, with subsequent plans
to extend outsourcing to Allama Iqbal Airport Lahore and Jinnah International
Airport Karachi.

In addition, the minister assured that Pakistan International Airlines
(PIA) would soon receive clearance to resume operations in the European Union
and the United Kingdom. He emphasized that the process was advancing swiftly
and energetically.
Addressing concerns regarding government involvement in the
hospitality sector, Minister Asif underscored the intention to entrust these
responsibilities to the private sector.
Furthermore, he acknowledged the outdated and restrictive nature
of the country's visa policy, advocating for its modernization and
liberalization. Assuring stakeholders of ongoing efforts to address these
issues, Minister Asif pledged transparency in progress updates.

It's noteworthy that previous statements from the former Aviation
Adviser affirmed that specific airport components' operation and management
would be outsourced, while critical services such as Air Traffic Control Tower,
Rescue and Fire Fighting Services, and Air Navigation Services would remain
under the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority's administrative control.
