Bahawalpur International Airport executes comprehensive emergency drill
On Friday, Bahawalpur International Airport carried out an
extensive emergency drill named Aviation Rescue-222.
As reported by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the objective
of the drill was to assess and evaluate the coordinated efforts of various departments
and agencies involved in emergency response.
The simulation involved a passenger bus at the airport, mimicking
a plane crash scenario.

The two-phase drill encompassed the extinguishing of a fuel-lit
fire in the first phase and the evacuation, as well as the provision of medical
aid to the injured in the second phase.
Collaborating in response to the simulated plane crash emergency
were entities such as Civil Aviation, PIA, Islamia University, UAV Squadron 51,
ASF, CMH, Edhi Ambulance Services, Rescue 1122, Victoria and Sadiq Mehr
Hospitals, City Fire Brigade, and Civil Defense.
The Pakistan Army Aviation Bahawalpur contributed to the drill by
providing a helicopter and a skilled team for the swift transfer of casualties
to hospitals.
Judges from Army Aviation, UAV Squadron 51, ASF, and PIA evaluated
the exercise to gauge the effectiveness of emergency procedures and identify
areas for improvement.

Representatives from the Pakistan Army, hospital administrations,
and district administrations observed the drills and commended the performance
of the participating agencies.
Certificates of participation were bestowed upon the involved
agencies, acknowledging their efforts and emergency response capabilities.
The execution of such drills is imperative to uphold a high level
of preparedness and guarantee the safety and well-being of all airport
stakeholders.
