Pakistani airlines assured of resolving their issues
The Prime Minister's Aviation Adviser, retired Air Marshal
Farhat Hussain Khan, recently convened a meeting with airline CEOs, including
those of the financially troubled Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), to
address the challenges encountered at both domestic and international levels.
The meeting involved a thorough discussion of these
challenges and the formulation of an action plan to tackle them.
During the gathering, the Aviation Adviser reassured all
airline CEOs of the Ministry's unwavering commitment to collaborate and resolve
the issues currently confronting these airlines.
Government
fast-tracks PIA privatization amid financial crisis
Meanwhile, PIA continues to grapple with ongoing financial
and fuel crises. Although the airline's management has devised a flight
schedule adjusted to the available fuel supply in an effort to minimize flight
cancellations, some delays persist for various reasons.
Reports suggest that the government is contemplating changes
in the top-level management, ostensibly to expedite the privatization of the
national flag carrier. To this end, the Privatization Commission has sought
input from two former PIA CEOs to finalize the terms of reference (TORs).

aviation regulatory body to undergo split into two entities
Notably, PIA, which has faced severe financial and fuel
crises and canceled approximately 528 flights, encompassing both domestic and
international routes, maintains that its operations are gradually recovering as
fuel supplies improve. The airline's spokesperson additionally anticipates that
PIA's flight operations will return to normalcy in the coming days as fuel
availability further improves.
