Pakistan test fires medium range ballistic missile 'Ababeel' with
approximate range of 2,200 km
On October 18, 2023, Pakistan achieved a significant
milestone with the successful flight test of the Ababeel weapon system,
according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
This latest test of the ballistic missile system had the
purpose of "re-validating various design, technical parameters, and
performance evaluation of different sub-systems."

The primary objective of the Ababeel missile system is to
strengthen deterrence and enhance strategic stability in the region by operationalizing full-spectrum deterrence within the framework of a credible
minimum deterrence, as explained by ISPR.
The launch of this successful test was witnessed by Chairman
Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, senior
officers from the Strategic Plans Division and Strategic Forces Command, as
well as scientists and engineers from strategic organizations.

General Mirza commended the technical expertise, dedication,
and commitment of all those who contributed to the test's success. Additionally, the President, Prime Minister of Pakistan, and Services Chiefs
extended their congratulations to all members of the Strategic Forces for this
significant achievement.
Previously, in 2021, Pakistan achieved success with the test
flight of the locally developed Fatah-1 Guided Multi-Launch Rocket System,
boasting a range of 140 kilometers and the capability for precise targeting.
Furthermore, on December 30, the Pakistan Air Force marked a
noteworthy milestone by commencing the production of advanced JF-17 Thunder
Block 3 fighter jets, equipped with improved radar and rivaling the
capabilities of India's Raphael aircraft.
