Pakistan and the UAE air forces’ chiefs explore ways to strengthen cooperation

In a significant move, a high-level delegation, led by Major General Staff Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Mohamed Al-Alawi, Commander of the Air Force & Air Defense of the United Arab Emirates, paid a visit to Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force at Air Headquarters in Islamabad on Wednesday. The meeting delved into a wide range of topics concerning the geopolitical landscape, regional security, and the exploration of new avenues to enhance bilateral defense cooperation.

During the meeting, the Chief of the Air Staff outlined the comprehensive modernization efforts undertaken by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) with the aim of bolstering its current operational capabilities in areas such as Cybersecurity, Space Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Cutting-Edge Technologies. He also emphasized the ongoing projects within the operational framework of the PAF, its strategic objectives, and its plans for the future of warfare, with a strong emphasis on preparedness.

Commending the participation of the UAE Air Force contingent in PAF's multi-national Exercise Indus Shield, the Air Chief highlighted the exceptional fraternal relations shared by both nations and expressed his unwavering commitment to further enhance the existing bilateral ties, particularly in military-to-military cooperation, joint exercises, and training programs. In response, the Commander of the UAE Air Force & Air Defense conveyed his deep appreciation for the impressive progress made by the Pakistan Air Force in developing indigenous capabilities and lauded the professionalism exhibited by PAF personnel.

Both sides agreed to optimize and strengthen their current military relations with a particular focus on advanced tactical training, emerging technologies, and the enhancement of operational competencies.
