Pakistan government considering amendments to
aviation laws
The government is currently considering
essential amendments to the aviation laws/ordinances to enhance service
provision and elevate the standards of the aviation sector in Pakistan,
aligning them with international benchmarks for the resumption of PIA flights
to the USA, the UK, and Europe.
A meeting was held on Tuesday, chaired by
Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, to
address matters concerning the Civil Aviation Division and Airport Security
Force.
The meeting was attended by Federal
Minister for Aviation and Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Federal Minister for
Commerce, Syed Naveed Qamar, SAPM on Finance, Tariq Bajwa, Secretary of
Aviation, DG ASF, DG CAA, and senior officers from the Finance and Aviation
sectors.
During the meeting, participants were
briefed on the challenges faced by the aviation sector, including regulation,
service provision, security, safety, and the need to enhance the sector's
capacity.
The discussion primarily focused on the
necessary amendments required in the aviation laws/ordinances. These amendments
aim to improve service provision, raise the standards of the aviation sector,
and ensure compliance with international benchmarks for the resumption of PIA
flights to the USA, the UK, and Europe.
