Pakistan, Turkey agree on enhancing cooperation in military aviation

Pakistan and Turkey have reached an agreement to collaborate on the joint production of military hardware, focusing specifically on fifth-generation aircraft and unmanned aerial platforms.

This agreement was made during a meeting held in Islamabad between a delegation led by Turkish Air Force Commander General Atilla Gulan and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.

The meeting covered various areas of mutual interest and regional developments.

Upon arrival, a smartly dressed contingent of the Pakistan Air Force presented a guard of honor to General Atilla Gulan. He also paid tribute to the martyrs by laying a floral wreath at the monument. Subsequently, the visiting dignitary was introduced to the Principal Staff Officers.

During the meeting, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu shared the broad outlines of the Pakistan Air Force's modernization plan, which includes the acquisition of advanced equipment from allied countries, infrastructure upgrades, and training revamps.

The Air Chief emphasized the long-standing religious and historical relationship between the two countries, which is reflected in their unprecedented strategic partnership.

He reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening the existing bilateral ties in military-to-military cooperation, strategic alliance, and training collaboration.

The Air Chief stated, "Pakistan highly values its robust diplomatic, economic, and defense relationship with Turkey, which is based on shared interests in regional peace, security, and stability."

He mentioned that Pakistani Air Force pilots actively participate in training Turkish aircrew on various aircraft types, including trainers and fighters.

General Atilla Gulan praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Air Force and acknowledged its increasing indigenous capabilities in the aviation industry.

He also expressed keen interest in the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park, a project led by the Pakistan Air Force, and appreciated the unwavering commitment of the Air Chief in ensuring its success.

The visiting dignitary emphasized the cordial relations between the two countries and reiterated his determination to further enhance the existing bilateral ties between the two brotherly nations.
