GPS failure makes the job of pilots difficult at Lahore Airport

Pilots of various aircraft have reported disruptions in GPS signals at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, making their job difficult and compromising safety.

In aviation business, GPS technology is very important to trace the precise location of an airplane throughout all stages of flight. If GPS signal is not available, the pilots can err in landing calculations.

According to pilots, GPS signals are also being disrupted approximately 150 nautical miles from the terminal, causing major difficulty in landing the plane.

On December 8, an aircraft from Abu Dhabi was the most recent to have GPS signal loss.
