Fujairah Airport’s new runway to increase capacity
A new
runway at Fujairah Airport will help accommodate more air traffic and increase
capacity of the facility.
The
runway was inaugurated by Sheikh Hamad bin Saleh Al Sharqi, who is the first
pilot to use it.
Ismail Al Baloushi, Director-General of Fujairah Airport, said the new runway underscores the airport’s strategic objective to improve and maintain its operations, in line with the highest global standards.
Al Baloushi said the expansion project was ongoing and will be completed on time. The new runway will help boost the airport's capacity to accommodate more flights.
The new runway has a length of 3,050 metres and a width of 45 metres, and is equipped according to the highest standards approved by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and the GCAA in the UAE, he added.
