PIA plane airlifts flood relief goods from China
A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane has delivered relief
goods from South West China to Pakistan for the assistance of flood-hit people.
PK-871 flew out from Chengdu Shuangliu Interna
tional Airport for
Islamabad carrying donations handed over by various businesses and entities
based in the region.
It was the first non-governmental aid flight leaving China,
carrying donations, intended to help support and assist Pakistan’s flood relief
efforts.
The items being carried comprised of water purifiers, tents,
blankets, etc and the total weight was around four tonnes. Additionally, a further three tonnes of relief
supplies were transported from Chengdu to the port of Guangzhou. The relief
items will reach the port city of Karachi towards the end of November.
