Airblue to soon receive Airbus A320neo aircraft
Pakistan’s private airline Airblue is set to expand its fleet with the
addition of three Airbus A320neo aircraft under a leasing agreement with Macquarie
AirFinance.
The agreement was signed during the Farnborough International
Airshow 2026 in the United Kingdom, with representatives of Airblue, Airbus
and Macquarie AirFinance attending the ceremony. The aircraft will be the first
A320neo models to join Airblue’s fleet.
According to aviation industry
reports, the first aircraft is expected to be delivered in December 2026, while
the remaining two are anticipated to arrive in March or April 2027. The
addition of these aircraft is expected to increase Airblue’s fleet from 12 to
15 aircraft.

Airblue signs lease for three Airbus A320neo aircraft
The Airbus A320neo is a
new-generation, single-aisle passenger aircraft designed to improve fuel efficiency
and reduce operating costs. It offers more than 20 percent lower fuel
consumption and carbon dioxide emissions compared with previous-generation
aircraft, according to Airbus.
The new aircraft will complement
Airblue’s existing Airbus A321neo fleet and are expected to support the
airline’s efforts to expand its domestic and international network while
improving operational efficiency.
Founded in 2003, Airblue commenced
commercial operations in June 2004. The airline operates domestic services
within Pakistan and international flights to destinations in the Middle East
and other markets. The planned acquisition reflects its continued investment in
modern aircraft as competition in the regional aviation market grows.
