Sialkot International Airport launches free shuttle service for international passengers

The initiative is aimed specifically at passengers travelling on international flights from Sialkot International Airport

Sialkot International Airport offers convenient news transport to passengers

Sialkot International Airport has introduced a free shuttle bus service for passengers travelling abroad, offering a convenient new transport option for travellers heading to the airport from the city.

The complimentary shuttle service will begin on August 14, 2026, and will operate between the airport and a designated pickup point near KFC at Larri Adda in Sialkot, according to details announced by the airport.

The initiative is aimed specifically at passengers travelling on international flights from Sialkot International Airport, providing them with a dedicated and cost-free way to reach the airport and potentially easing one of the practical challenges associated with travelling to the facility.

The airport has advised eligible passengers to make use of the designated shuttle service when travelling for their international flights.

Boosting Passenger Convenience

The new service comes as Sialkot International Airport continues to expand passenger-oriented facilities and transport options. The airport's official website lists a range of passenger services, including transportation-related facilities, while the airport has also introduced dedicated apron buses to improve movement within the airport complex.

For passengers from Sialkot and surrounding industrial districts, reliable access to the airport is particularly important. The airport is located in the Sambrial area, around 14 kilometres west of Sialkot, and serves as a major international gateway for the region.

A Business Community Success Story

Sialkot International Airport has a distinctive history in Pakistan's aviation sector. It was established through an initiative of the Sialkot business community, which financed and developed the airport on a self-help basis. The facility began operations in 2007 and has since become an important gateway for the Sialkot-Gujranwala-Gujrat industrial belt.

The airport's importance extends beyond passenger travel. Sialkot is one of Pakistan's major export-oriented industrial centres, particularly known for sports goods, surgical instruments, leather products and other manufactured goods. Direct international air connectivity has helped businesses in the region access overseas markets more efficiently.

The airport handled nearly 940,000 passengers during July 2024-June 2025, according to available Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority statistics, underscoring its growing role in the country's air transport network.

The free shuttle initiative is therefore more than a transport facility: it is another effort to make Sialkot's international gateway more accessible to the growing number of passengers using the airport.

With the service commencing on August 14, international travellers now have an additional option for reaching the airport without having to arrange separate paid transportation from the designated pickup point
