Sialkot Airport to streamline customs procedures to enhance passenger services

International Airport Limited (SIAL) and Pakistan
Customs have agreed to strengthen institutional coordination to improve
airport operations, streamline customs procedures and enhance services for
passengers and exporters using one of Pakistan's busiest privately managed
international airports.
The understanding was reached during a meeting
between SIAL Chairman Abdul Ghafoor Malik and Collector
Customs Beelam
Ramzan, where both sides reviewed key operational matters and
discussed measures to further improve collaboration between the airport
management and the Customs Department.

Officials focused on enhancing coordination to
ensure the smooth functioning of airport operations, with particular emphasis

expediting cargo handling, reflecting Sialkot International Airport's growing
role as a gateway for international trade and overseas travel.
Both organisations reaffirmed their commitment
to maintaining regular coordination to raise service standards, strengthen
operational efficiency and ensure effective customs management for the benefit
of passengers, exporters and other stakeholders.

Sialkot International Airport is Pakistan's
first privately owned public airport, established by the city's business
community to support the region's export-oriented industries. The airport
serves thousands of passengers annually while handling significant volumes of
export cargo, particularly from Sialkot's globally recognised sports goods,
surgical instruments and leather manufacturing sectors.
