Islamabad Airport becomes Pakistan’s first 3-star airport
In a boost for Pakistan’s aviation
sector, Islamabad
International Airport has been awarded a 3-star rating by global airport
and airline ranking body Skytrax.
With this recognition, Islamabad has
become the country’s first airport to achieve a 3-star status. The rating was
granted following an assessment of passenger facilities, service quality and
overall airport management.

In the same Skytrax rankings, Dubai Airport was also classified as a 3-star airport, while Lahore and Karachi airports retained their 2-star ratings.
The milestone highlights recent
improvements at Islamabad Airport aimed at enhancing the passenger experience
through better services and facilities.
Earlier this year, the 2025 World
Airline Awards were presented at a gala ceremony on June 17 during the Paris
Air Show, held at the Air and Space Museum in the iconic Hall of Eight Columns
at Le Bourget Airport. Qatar Airways was named the World’s Best Airline at the
event, attended by around 500 industry representatives from airlines worldwide.
