Pakistan, Turkiye discuss to enhance cooperation between their air forces
A high-level Turkish Air Force
delegation led by Commander General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu met Air Chief Marshal
Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), at
Air Headquarters in Islamabad on Wednesday to discuss defence collaboration and
new avenues in modern warfare.
The delegation received a ceremonial
Guard of Honour on arrival. During talks, the two sides reviewed the regional
security landscape, assessed progress on ongoing defence cooperation, and
explored prospects for enhanced joint training, multi-domain operations, and
technology sharing.

Air Chief Marshal Sidhu underscored the historic bonds between Pakistan and Türkiye, rooted in shared faith, strategic alignment, and mutual aspirations. He highlighted the induction of the first batch of Turkish cadets at PAF Academy Asghar Khan as a milestone in bilateral defence ties, describing it as the foundation for nurturing a new generation of air warriors.
General Kadioglu praised PAF’s
operational excellence, particularly during its conflict with India, and
expressed keen interest in studying its strategies in multi-domain warfare. He
also lauded Pakistan’s advancements in aerospace innovation, including the
National Aerospace Science & Technology Park, noting its role in building
indigenous capabilities and operational self-reliance.

Both air chiefs reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen institutional ties through joint exercises, training programs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. The visit, officials said, reflects the growing resolve of Pakistan and Türkiye to deepen defence cooperation and expand collaboration in emerging domains of warfare.
