Civil Aviation Authorities of Bangladesh and Pakistan discuss restoring direct flights
Senior officials from the Civil
Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) and the Pakistan Civil Aviation
Authority (PCAA) have agreed to work towards restoring direct air connectivity
between the two countries to promote trade, tourism, and people-to-people ties.
The discussions took place on
Wednesday in Dhaka when PCAA Director General Nadir Shafi Dar met with CAAB
Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmood Siddiq, according to a CAAB press
release issued by Assistant Director (Public Relations) Muhammad Kawsar Mahmud.

Talks focused on boosting cooperation in aviation, including technology and knowledge exchange, capacity building, and wider collaboration. Both sides underlined that direct flights could serve as a catalyst for stronger bilateral relations.
The meeting was also attended by
senior CAAB officials and the CEO of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
CAAB has already cleared two
Pakistani carriers to operate flights to Dhaka. In February, Fly Jinnah, a
private airline, received approval for the Karachi–Dhaka route, while Air Sial
was granted permission in May for the same sector.
