Pakistan Aviation Journalists Association nominates Adnan Malik as patron-in-chief 

The official launch of the Pakistan Aviation Journalists Association (PAJ) — a representative body for aviation reporters in the country — was announced at the Lahore Press Club, marking a significant step toward unifying media professionals covering Pakistan’s aviation sector.

The association also held its first elections to appoint its founding panel of office-bearers.

Veteran aviation journalist Adnan Malik, who brings over 35 years of industry experience, was unanimously nominated as Patron-in-Chief. He will serve as a strategic advisor and intellectual leader for the association, leveraging his decades-long contributions to aviation journalism.

Talib Fareedi, a seasoned journalist, was elected unopposed as President, while Wasif Mehmood was named Secretary General.

Other elected officials include:

·        Amraiz KhanSenior Vice President

·        Zulqarnain TahirVice President

·        Hassan HafeezJoint Secretary

·        Umair Rana – Finance Secretary

Additionally, Rana Muhammad Ali, Shahid Chaudhry, Afzal Iftikhar, and Sher Ali Khalti were elected as members of the Executive Council.

The election process was supervised by Athar Hassan Awan, General Manager of Public Relations at Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), who served as the Election Commissioner. Renowned aviation expert Kamran Malik also attended the ceremony as a special guest.

The journalism community widely welcomed the formation of PAJ. Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari and Secretary Zahid Abid extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected leadership. They expressed confidence that the association would act as a vital bridge between the aviation industry and the media, while also advocating for the rights and challenges of aviation journalists across the country.
