Approval granted to construct new airports in Sukkur and Muzaffarabad
In a major infrastructure development, Pakistan has approved the construction of two new international airports in Sukkur and Muzaffarabad, according to official sources. The projects are expected to be completed within the next five years.
Sources revealed on Tuesday that the
Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has formed a dedicated committee to oversee
land acquisition for both sites. The PAA’s Works and Development Department has
already begun initial groundwork on the projects.

to upgrade three airports and construct a new one
The initiative, backed by
substantial government funding, will involve the hiring of consultants and
technical experts to ensure international standards are met. The total cost of
constructing Sukkur International Airport and Muzaffarabad International
Airport is expected to run into billions of rupees.
This strategic move by the PAA
reflects a broader push to expand and modernize the country's aviation
infrastructure, particularly in under-served regions.
